Claremont Hills Wilderness Park
The Claremont Hills Wilderness Park is a beautiful natural open space park located at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains and the Angeles National Forest in the northern section of Claremont.
The Park offers a five mile walking loop and smaller trails. The city has adopted a master plan that has added signs and parking permit program. Parking for the park is available at lots on Mills Avenue and Mt. Baldy Road. Permits are required in the lots and restricted in the neighborhoods. The plan also involves a policy for closing the park during severe weather. Visitors may check the social media site or the City website to verify if the park is open. The Park Rangers and a volunteer group called the Friends of the Claremont Hills Wilderness Park work together to maintain the park, educate the public, and enforce park regulations.
Residents of Claremont may obtain two FREE resident permits per household.
